I am new to detailing, and have been doing a lot of forum reading here, and have a cart full of products ready to purchase in the store. I just purchased a black Mazda3 hatchback, and I'd love to get a flawless finish like a lot of the members here.
However, I am starting my medical residency, so I unfortunately won't have time to do the kind of maintenance I want to.
I found a detailer who does correction and Opti-Coat, and I was leaning towards going this route. This way, I can do a simple wash and QD and have a decent looking car.
My hesitation is due to the 'permanence' of the Opti-Coat. I'm worried that down the road I might prefer to do corrections myself and use a wax or sealant (the 7424xp is calling my name...).
Can anyone offer me any guidance one way or the other? I think I'll definitely get it detailed by a professional first, but I am just not sure about Opti-Coat.
TL;DR: I want the benefits of Opti-Coat, but I'm scared of the commitment.
Thanks for such a great forum and store.
