How many cars can you do with one $80 opticoat purchase?

Also, does opticoat self-heal the paint?

2 or 3 cars I have heard. But for sure 2 if you're good.

Self-healing, I have never heard of.

I can go for more than 3 sedans.

If you mean by self leveling, then yes. It levels and flashes away. Need to buff pff highspots though.

Too many people on the car forums confuse the coatings for films:
Coatings protect against marring and swirling
Films protect against rocks

Coatings don't protect against rocks, and certainly don't self heal, that is what a good film like xpel does....

I would say 2 cars the first time, you want to make sure you don't skimp on the coverage and your prep is good with optimum polish first. Failure seems to happen if you don't use what they suggest and try to put to little on.

By self heal i mean if you scratch it will the coating at that point "self level" to hide it (after curing).

Good to know two cars can be done. Is there a shelf life?

For products like xpel and 3m this leaves a visible "line", does it not? Because of the thickness.
