With all the new products including coatings and others that contain graphene or ceramic I was just curious if anyone was still using optimum car wax or is that somewhat obsolete in the detailing world today?

I still use it.

I keep it on mine and my mom's car through the summer months.

It's also the default protection for any service where I'm not using a cleaner wax (3D Speed, Opti GPS, etc.), or a coating.

I still use it on my Black truck that sits outside 24/7 that was coated 5+ years ago in an old Optimum Coating. Works perfectly for what I want it to do and is easy to re-apply monthly or bi-monthly.

I bought a gallon of it and treat it like a drying step detail spray. works great for that. also help to make water spots easier to remove.

Plus 1 to everything said above

It is an outstanding product

I always have OCW on hand.

That, and DG AquaWax.

Just because there are thousands of new products in the last decade or so, it doesn't rend these great products "obsolete". :)

Yep! I love Aquawax too.

111 is AWESOME!

111 + 601 was my heavy duty offering before I got Gloss Coat.

Right now I keep 111, 101, 601, Aquawax, and Fast Clean & Shine around. Like Megs M21, M26 paste, M20 (while its still available, and M06. I'll never get rid of them.

I have some 111/601 that is probably 6 years old. Do you think it’s still good?

I just used Aquawax the other day and I forgot how great it is. I love how these great products get pushed to the back of the cabinet for the "product of the month". I love OCW and still use it. It's a great combo to use with ONR.

Here are some other goodies I forgot about and need to start using again.

Prima Hydro Max
Prima Hydro

I actually found an old bottle of Hydrosilex. Wow I remember the hype of this stuff when ceramic first hit the industry. I have a quarter bottle left and using it for my wheel wipedowns lol

I've always heard good things about ONR + OCW when used together.

I've never used OCW long enough to know how good it is. It always gets good reviews. Durability is suspect but for a spray wax that is so easy to use might as well just use it after each wash.

BLACKFIRE BlackICE Hybrid Liquid Wax

first wax I'd used in a while...found an old thread here and MP recommended it so i thought I'd give it a try....very reflective and drippy looking :)
