This was my weekend project, I started on this truck on Friday morning and finished it on Sunday morning more than 48 hours after starting. Total time was close 25 hours and this was just an exterior correction. For a 10k mile truck I could tell it had never seen a proper bath. It had been shoved in car wash tunnels abroad. Luckily it had been washed a frequently and after an education conversation with the customer now it will get washed the right way from now on!

Wash was done using 2 bucket method with citrus wash diluted 10:1
Paint and wheel decon was done with Iron-X followed by 3m Perfect it clay
Paint correction was carried out with Dewalt 849x and Black Fire SRC Compound/Polish is with Orange/white/red CCS Pads
Paint was sealed with Fuzion then topped with Pinnacle paste
Wheels were Opti Coated just to make future cleaning easier(Range wheels get hammered)

In the shade the paint had an obvious dullness to it. scratches were easily seen with no special lighting or the sun....

In the sun swirls were very apparent...

Even with this highly metallic paint you could easily see the damage inflicted from improper washing...

Wheels were as bad as expected for a Rover. The faces cleaned up easy but the barrels were a pain and I don't think anyone had ever cleaned them before. It took 2 different Iron-X treatment and agitation with wheel woolie brush.

Skip forward after wash and decon. WOW under Halo's you can see I'm up for a challenge...

This is after 2 passes with Black Fire SRC Compound just a little test to see if it would be aggressive enough.

Finshed panel to an untouched one. Black Fire sure does make it shiny!

This was taking sooooo long per panel. I dirtied up every pad on my shelf and had to wash them at the end of the night before I could continue the next day(busy shop we have a lot of pads laying around)

Even the hard plastic tail light lenses were no match for car wash tunnel abuse.

They were also no match for Black Fire SRC Compound! Gloss and clarity restored! Polishing went on for the rest of the day. Wolf's Fuzion was applied and removed at about 830pm. The next morning I came in and Pinnacle was applied. Lets see what we got?

Very nicely done - great advertisement for your work. That thing was really hammered.

My daughter has a 2009. Same color. I can't wait for the weather to break so I can do hers. Nice job.

I had a customers Buick that looked exactly like that but it was Burgundy.Took forever, lets just say I had a long detailed conversation with him afterwards. You did an awesome job on that sport, and I can only imagine how your arms felt after that job.
