other forums

there are many that have some good info and in no particular order...
autopia.org (the web's original detailing forum) - detailingbliss.com - live2detail.com - detailingworld.co.uk - waxforum.com - and a few others i can't think of at the moment...

I find it interesting that more pro's or big names post in the forums you list than they do here. I mean you see them post here but not too often.

I haven't had nearly as much time on the forums lately but I frequent Live2Detail and then Autogeek when I am on a forum.

I also like Detailing World a lot but rarely have the time to visit it lately. Pat is a huge benefit for Autopia forums. Hes a great guy not only online but in person which is great. People make the difference.

There's lots of great forums but how much time does one have? There are a couple different flavors out there.

Probably because this place caters to noobs and is more tolerant more than the others.

At the end of the day, people naturally go to where they get the best help in a friendly environment, it doesn't matter how old or how new the forum is.

I recommend people to post their questions to as many forums as they can and then decide for themselves, which forum helps them the best and then make that your online forum home.

What I have noticed though it 90% of the names and faces I see here I see on the other forums as well. Many of the topics are the same and there's quite a bit of copying and pasting going on...

While I do belong to many, I've sort of weened it down to 3.

  1. Autogeek
  2. Autopia
  3. Live2Detail

it's nice to have choices these days and there is great information (some sites more than others) all over the web and that not only pertains to auto detailing as well... :dblthumb2:

Like BobbyG my top 3 are

1. Autogeek
2. Autopia
3. Live2detal.com

ALso visit pakshak time to time.

I'm on all the ones mentioned above except live2detail, never heard of it, but I've noticed depending on which forum you go to, it leans heavily on a certain brand or brands. I like detailingbliss and detailingworld because they tend to not favor/push one brand all over the place. I'm there for info, not for a marketing rush.

Product company owned forums tend to overly push their brands, some way worse than others (won't name any names), and that gets annoying, fast.

L2D is neutral, plus they are strict toward vendors to keep it that way.

I'll stick to what I already posted...

People can and will compare and contrast the answers they get on all the various forums and then they can decide whether to continue to ask more questions or move on...

I like UK Detail World

I do to, I have a forum group there which is a lot of fun to post to because you get a lot of different types of questions plus they have a lot of different types of forums.

I follow autogeek and another forum that sells there own product. I used this product for years on my own cars with great results. Now that I detail for dollars I have come to a place were I need to have the car look great and in a reason able about of time. So I looked to my friends here at autogeek for recommendations I found a few new products that cut time off my details and are more cost effective.
