Hello all! My first post here.

Just recently I got back into the hobby of detailing and noticed the paint defects on the roof and hood of my sisters Acura Integra. I'm pretty sure it's oxidation on the hood but is it clear coat failure on the roof?

My two most aggressive compounds are Griots Garage Machine Polish 1 and Poorboy's Super Swirl Remover 2.5. I also have GC Machine polish 2 and 3 and a 3M Swirl Mark Remover. I have a PC 7424 with Griots Garage orange pads and a yellow cutting pad.

I would like to know if these compounds that I have can get rid of this paint defect or do I need something stronger?

Here are the pictures:

Thanks!

I am far from an expert, but in the first two photos above, yep clear coat failure. On the hood ,if the third photo, unsure.

I would second what barryscott said. Looks like clearcoat failure in the first two pics.

Pat.

Yeah I had a feeling it's going to be clear coat failure. Oh well.

So this car has never been detailed and when I get my Flex I'm going to start detailing it. I'm going to start with claying then using Poorboy's SSR3 but can I following up with a Menzerna Nano Polish 106FF after that?

After the polish I'm probably going to use some sort of sealant.

Don't even waste your time. It's too late. The car needs a paint job. Those white spots means the paint is cracked. Sorry
