Looking for a product that removes heavy oxidation . Car is a 1991 Ford Mustang LX 5.0 convertible with clear coat.

Thanks

Any traditional compound or polish will help to remove oxidation. You simply need to start with the least aggressive method first and then step it up as needed until you see the results you are after...

What products and tools do you currently have at your disposal?

I have Klasse All In One, Meguires Ultimate Compound along with assorted waxes.

I have a Griots 6" buffer.

Its really strange because the Klasse AIO seems to be removing more of the oxidation than the Meguires Ultimate Compound.

I feel I need something stronger for the oxidation because using the Klasse AIO will take forever.

Thanks for your quick reply.

Its oxidation for sure because after working on it for about 2 hours, parts of the hood that I worked on look better.

However at this rate it will take days to remove the oxidation from the entire car.

i recently used poorboys pro polish on a heavily oxidized white honda that sat outside for a couple of years.luckily i had it with me.

I like Klasse AIO on oxidized paint. Couldn't tell you why it works better then other stuff but it does.

How did it turn out ? Did you use anything else ?

Good, oxidation is always better than clear coat failure.

Two questions...

What are you using to remove the oxidation?

How are you applying the product? By hand or machine and if by machine what type of tool and pad?

Well, I guess that's six questions...

Completely agree. I'd rather use KAIO to knock off the oxidation then move to a polish or compound. If you go straight to a compound, you'll gum up the pads quickly and not really see what sort of damage the surface has. DG501 is another great product to combat oxidation.

I have applied by hand so far using Klasse AIO. My friend is bringing back my buffer I loaned him 2 weeks ago. The buffer is a Griots 6" orbital buffer. I have three 6.5" foam pads. One green, one orange, and 1 yellow. I also have some rubbing compound by Turtle Wax. If I remember correctly the yellow pad is for heavy oxidation, correct ?

Thanks guys for your help.
