Hi all;

Last week I got a tub of P21S 100% Carnauba, and wanted to show off some first-time pics.

This Dolphin Grey 2007 Audi A4 S-Line Titanium has been pretty pampered over the past year. It gets regular washings and bi-annual full details, and most people mistake it for a brand-new 2008.

Typically I was with either Meguiar's Gold Class or Menzerna Auto Shampoo, 2-bucket method, with microfiber chenille wash mitts and dry with waffle-weave microfiber towels. For detailing I use Blackfire PolyClay, some combo of Menzerna Intensive Polish, Menzerna Final Polish, Blackfire Gloss Enhancing Polish (which has a glaze), and top with layered Blackfire All-Finish Paint Protection sealant.

I don't see many posts about Blackfire around here. It's a similar product to Menzerna, they use a similar polymer base. Their sealant and clay are superb.

It has been 4 weeks since my last full detail; the sealant was still going strong but the finish had acquired some surface contamination so before this P21S mini-detail, I touched it up again with clay.

P21S 100% is stiffer than most Carnauba waxes, and takes more effort than most waxes. The included applicator has enough "bite" to get just the right amount of wax out of the container though. Application is easy and smooth, no streaks. It hazes over in 20 minutes or so, but becomes more work to buff the longer it hazes. I found myself struggling a little by the end.

The effect is pretty severe - P21S 100% has a super-sharp laser shine, similar to a sealant, mixed with a pleasant glossy glow. It is less radiant than Pinnacle, but much more direct, almost like looking in a mirror. The combination of P21S 100% and Blackfire (which is also super-sharp) is almost too much - the clearcoat looks an inch thick, almost underwater. It can be distracting to look at in the sun! Some people might want to skip the sealant, or use something less overpowering.

I also learned that polymer-based sealant quick-detailers don't work very well on P21S. They go on streaky, and don't adhere properly. Does anyone have a suggestion for a good Carnauba-based QD? I've never tried Po-Boy's.

looks fantastic. as far as detail spray i would use crystal mist.

P21S 100% is quite nice as waxes go, very easy to use and looks great. Gets rid of the beeswax the original was so heavy in and did nothing for paint. Use the Optimum Quick Detailer or Souveran Spray Wax for an even wetter look. FK425 is nice too.

Blackfire is an ok sealant. Wolfgang and UPP look far better and just as easy to use. The only thing similar to Menzerna by them, is the ceramiclear polish that they rebottle. The real Menzerna Germany line is well represented and respected on this forum and at AG.
