Hello Guys, I've got a question, I've been browsing through the forums cause i'm thinking in getting new pads for my pc. Untill now i've been using the meguiars Soft Buff pads but I think, Either the LC pads or the Edge 2000 are lots better.

My Concern is That what happened with the Meguiars, specially with the cutting pad is that the velcro backing just was ripped off by the pc Even though i think was a little bit my fault (too much pressure) i don't what my next pads to work the same way.

Is the difference between the LC Pads and the edge 2000 worth it.

Thanks a lot guys for your answers. :o

The Edge system is great because you don't even use a backing plate so the issue with your Meguiar's pads will be history. They are also double sided so you can just flip them and keep going.

The LC pads are very good quality. You need to use a backing plate but the velcro won't rip off. I have both and like them both, but I give the nod to Edge because of the ease of the system and getting two pads in one. :)

Thanks a lot, thats what I Thought I guess I'm going direct to the edge, I like the adaptor feature so you don't really spend time changing and centering the pads, Take care.

Edge. Trust me. I have not used LC, but I know many people who have switched from LC to Edge. I haven't heard of anyone going from Edge to LC.

I would assume they are both high quality products, but I hated my old velcro pads. Edge all the way! :awesome:

I never really used the LC pads but the thought of Velcro pads didn't really appeal to me. I have a set of Edge 2000 pads and love it. Very user friendly (I'm new at detailing with a PC) and practical. I for one would recommend Edge 2K pads…but that’s just my opinion.

pad question? well it depends on your flow... hehe, jp, lol.

but honestly, I use the LC pads with the velcro and they adhere VERY well, never had one fly off. I have been, though, considering getting the Edge line to try out. I have heard ONLY good things so far...

I havent heard but good things about both. If you have the backing plate already then why not get a couple LC pads to try before taking the plunge to the edge. If you are not satisfied with the LC pad then you know the edge is for you.

Why? Then you spend twice as much money!!! He already mentioned he liked the edge idea!

Doesn't Meg. pads use hook and loop? If so then he should already have a backing plate for the LC. I don't see it as paying twice as much money if he tries an LC pad.

Meg's is a velcro backing plate. I'm not sure about this "hook" and "loop" term. I had a Meg's backing plate, and hated velcro pads.

Edge is just easier. And you can flip the pad and go.

You guys right I've already got the velcro backing plate, But I'm liking the idea of getting the Edge2k the only concern that i have is if there's the possibility if I press too much wouldn't the adaptor get to damage the paint.

So edge or edge wave pads? Anyone have any input on the wave pads? Gimmick? Not needed? Awesome?

I have been seeing problems with the edge system... I use lc and they work great

Uh, what problems? Without specifics it begs the question.

Theres been a couple (use search) In my completely uninformed opinion they APPEARED, just like yours, to probably be operator error. Both looked like tears from the center hole. I would somewhat expect that could happen with to much pressure on a seam or hitting a corner point like the hood, trunk or door corners (or emblems). I have a couple of nicks in mine where I think that happened.
They are both good products. Nothing lasts forever. Personal preference rules.
Welcome to the asylum!

That's interesting JSR, I'm going to have to keep my eyes open for my pads but never the less in my opinion they are good pads and I'll continue to use them. I guess if you look at it tear and wear is part of the game and I'm sure replacing them is normal, I guess the question is how often do you need to replace them. Interesting feed back JSR.

Thanks for sharing.

I've seen threads on the detailing forums where people have had problems with LC pads too (one started by me). Sometimes in the end it's operator error and sometimes it's a manufacturing defect. One thing stands out to me in each and every thread though . . . Edge stands behind their pads 110%. LC stands . . . well rather sits in my experience.
