I'm getting ready to place an order on some CCS 6.5 pads and I want to make sure that I'm ordering the right pads.

This will be my first time doing any paint correction so I do apologize if these questions are noobish.

Products that I will be usinga are:
Klasse AIO
Wolfgang Total Swirl Remover 3.0
Wolfgang Paintwork Polish Enhancer
Poorboy`s World White Diamond Show Glaze (white cars)
Wolfgang Deep Gloss Paint Sealant

Pads that I think I need:

Klasse AIO - CCS White Pad
Wolfgang Total Swirl Remover 3.0 - CCS Orange Pad
Wolfgang Paintwork Polish Enhancer - CCS White Pad
Poorboy`s World White Diamond Show Glaze - CCS Gray Pad
Wolfgang Deep Gloss Paint Sealant - CCS Blue Pad

Will I need more then one pad per product?

Thanks in advance for all your help.

That selection matched to the products you listed will work.

  1. What are you working on?
  2. What condition is the paint in?
  3. What is your goal?

(I'll probably get back to this tomorrow as I'm pushing away from the keyboard for the day...)

:)

I haven't tried the products you have listed, but for Menzerna & Meg's, for medium to tough stuff I really like the LC 6.5 Purple Foam Wool pad. For me they operate smooth and I don't have to worry about the heat as much as I do with the orange pads. I've started using it in place of the Orange in my tough stuff and mainly with Meg's 105 lately.

Foamed Wool 6.5 x 1 Thick Polishing / Buffing Pad

I use this with either my 3401 or 3403 Flex's.

I'm using this on a 2004 Subaru WRX the paint is OK I think. The color is Platinum Silver Metalic and it's really hard to see any swirl marks. The paint has never been correct and I've only used Auto Zone wax like EagleOne liquid wax and that's about it. I believe that this is a clear coat paint.

The new Hydro Pads are nice but the velcro part on the back comes off easily. I have to glue mine where it started to come apart from the pad. But on the plus side the pads work great.

The most important question when selecting pads is what machine are you using?

I will be using a PCXP.
Can't wait for Christmas.

I would go with 5.5" Hydro or LC Constant pressure pads.

Last night when I posted it was around 12 hour mark of my work day, after re-reading this thread after a cup or two of coffee with fresh eyes I would go with 5.5" pads due to the size of the car. Small cars have small panels and 5.5" pads work so much better in my opinion for small panels.

The new XP has tons of power and can easily dominate 6.5" pads but go with the 5.5" pads as they will fit your thinner body panels better.

All the suggestions so far have been great, if the paint's in great shape to start with you shouldn't need to use any cutting pads but it's always nice to have one on hand when you're getting into machine polishing.

Thanks to everyone for their input.
I'm going to get the 5.5" pads as suggested.

i got the pc 7424xp and i just got my order of pads in also i got ccs pads AG has them in a 6 pack. I really like how they work and they are a great price!!!! I use meg 105/205 combo and a various aray of glazes and sealants and you might want to consider getting a couple of the orange and a couple of the white, im new to this too so this is just my .02. I like to have extra pads so i am not wasting time cleaning it during the job. Good luck those cars look great in silver!

^ Just got that 6 pack too. I got 1-yellow, 3-orange (pad that gets used the most for 1 stage correct when I detail on the side), 2-white. I also finally broke down and purchased the M-105 new formula and used it on my dad's truck and hollly mother of all things good. Boy does it do the trick...not finished and will post pics later. Major spider webs and holograms and it cut through them all with 1 or 2 passes w/ my yellow and orange pads. WOW! :props:

To the OP I would get at least 1-yellow it is always good to have one in your arsenal.
