Pad texture

Mike,

Below is a picture of my Yellow Lake Country CCS pad. You can se how the texture is different from the white pad below it. The yellow pad used to look similar to the white pad. Does this mean my yellow pad life is coming to an end? Or is this ok?

I'd have no problem using that pad. The more use and cleanings they get they tend to lose firmness. You eventually lose some cutting capabilities but the good news is the yellows don't mar as badly once they acquire some wear. I toss worn pads when they show more obvious signs of deterioration or velcro delamination.

Personally, since I discovered PFW I tossed all my yellow cutting pads. As good or better cut and much better finishing. YMMV.

what type of cleaning brush are you using on the pad? i noticed the denser foams sometimes don't react to the foam pad conditioning brush ag sells very well leading to what your picture shows.so i started using the brushes that come on the little green machine suction nozzles(can take the little brushes out and aren't as stiff) to clean your pads or i will use a paint brush with bristles cut down..i noticed this method is not as harsh on the pads....but that pad is still perfectly fine to use most only replace pads when velcro delaminates (i would reglue velcro and keep using it if surface is fine) or if the foam is just torn up and don't spin right and loses performance. but i would not throw them away i would keep them as "emergency spares" or cut them up to make applicators! *hint* grab a carrand gripper and cut old pads to shape and can use the gripper to apply whatever is needed! hope i helped you out some with my mcguyver mindset i have sometimes! LOL

i am using a softer toothbrush on the pads only sometimes. most is just by hand.
