Pad vs Product

Assuming you have the best product and the best pad, which is doing most of the work while polishing? Is the pad most important and the product is mainly for lubrication?

I thought the product was what mostly did the work but the more I read forums and watch videos it seems the pads may be more important?

It's the combination of the pad and product that does the work.

It is really a combination of the two. You won't get good results without the right pad AND polish.
