Paint cleaner to remove wax

If I want to remove my latest wax (2 weeks ago) and compound/polish further to remove water spots/fine scratches that I missed what is the best way to do this?

My first thoughts are to use Paint Prep spray (like Griots Garage) or Meguiars M205 with a polishing pad. But, is the M205 necessary if I will be compounding (Meguiars M105) anyway?

Why would I spend the time to polish the wax off when I can Spray the Paint Prep on and wipe off? Or for that matter just start compounding immediately?

Start compounding away. By the time you get to the water spots and scratches---The wax will be lonnnng gone.
