I have a new GG6 with the Wolfgang Duo Wolfgang Total Swirl Remover 3.0 and Wolfgang Finishing Glaze 3.0. Right now I have some Megs NXT on the shelf, but think I want to get a different sealant to use (first)? I have no idea what direction to even look though. There seem to be so many I have no idea where to even start. Should I stick with the Wolfgang line and go with the Wolfgang Deep Gloss Paint Sealant 3.0? If I go that way, after a coat of the Wolfgang Deep Gloss Paint Sealant 3.0 should I still top it off with anything else like the NXT or something like Megs 26?

Thanks for all the help and insight you can give

Migliore Cima Sealant.

Saturate the work area using a wax applicator pad. Let it sit for 10 minutes. Wipe it off. (It flashes very quickly.) Let it cure for 12 hours. Use whatever wax you want on top.

NXT is an excellent product with a very good reputation, used it for a long time myself.

I do think personally however that WG Deep Gloss Paint Sealant gives more shine and gloss.

Yes you can top a Sealant with Megs 26. :)

As a general guideline I would say to start small and expand in parallel with your experience with one or more products. Definitely start off by reading reviews in the forum for each of the sealants being sold today by AGO. You will probably find a review for >90% of the sealants. As one or more resonate with you - you can potentially make requests in the Pay It Forward thread or the Samples thread.

Based on the specific question you asked you can use NXT and Megs 26 after TSR/FG.

Personally, I have used the following products - which either are sealants or have sealant qualities for one or more reasons. I like them all a lot.

1. Collinite 845
2. Ultimate Paint Guard Plus
3. Blackfire Wet Diamond All Purpose Paint Protection
4. Mothers Sealer & Glaze - Step 2
5. Dodo Juice Supernatural Hybrid

:iagree:
WDGPS is a damn fine product and at a reasonable price point! It will always be a staple in my arsenal!

I have always enjoyed Wolfgang and Blackfire sealants, but I honestly feel they are becoming "dated".

You should probably look into Duragloss 111 AND 105. I use DG 601 beneath both to make that instant bond. The added gloss/depth is amazing. Duragloss 105 claims 1 year of protection and the price point is great as well. I top these with either Duragloss 951 or CG Butter Wet Wax or Pete's 53.

I'm interested in your definition of: "dated"...
And how you feel it is applicable to the two Sealants you've listed.

There are so many good sealants out there just pick one and see how you like it. I personally am a fan of duragloss sealants because you can add 601 and not have to wait 12 hours for it to cure. BFWD is nice and I'm sure the Wolfgang is too but they are just too expensive for my tastes. My BFWD has collected dust ever since I started using duragloss sealants.

I was thinking the same thing.....

Megs NXT has been around for awhile and I wouldn't say it's dated either.... Still one of the better ones around IMO....

Wolfgang DGPS is one of my favorite sealants. Easy application, great durability, looks great. I used it on my car in April and was going to strip what was left in November and apply DP paint coating. However, I was so impressed with how nice the surface was after claying the car that I decided to reapply the DGPS.

My favorite sealants are Menz power lock and Sonax net shield both are great products.

Why is it Menz Power Lock doesn't receive much attention around the detailing forums?? Every now and then you'll see someone mention it with glowing reviews for looks and durability--one poster has even done his own testing and found it's almost impossible to remove PL with any chemical products short of acid based wheel cleaner--and yet not much talk about it?????

No need to top WG paint sealant 3.0, its an incredible product! I would use up NXT on the windows, doesn't even come close to WGPS 3.0!

"Dated" meaning "in need of a technical refresh". Menzerna Power Lock, Migliore Cima Sealant, Sonax Net Shield and others seem to last longer and look better. Just my opinion :xyxthumbs:

No reason not to stick with the WG line OP. WG sealant is very good and quite hearty. Plus, you can get enough to do your car a few times for free if you spend $95 at AG. I've never actually bought WGDGPS or BFWD, but I have like a zillion of those 2oz bottles around.

Top it with the non-cleaner paste wax of your choice after letting it cure overnight.

Thanks for all the replys. Reading more on the subject coatings keep coming up. Should I go towards a coating instead or is there really no difference?

I've used NXT for years and always did the job for me. Good stuff.

I then found and bought Wolfgang paint sealant and wow. Love it.

In time you'll find a sealant that you too will say wow.
Trial and error I always said.

If I use a sealant, I use power lock. My goodness it's so easy to apply and wipe off. I'm moving onto to coatings now.
