Hello guys,
This question is for those of you who do paint touch up jobs.
I have a car with a deep scratch that goes to the primer coat to work on.
The owner doesn't want to have it repainted so I offered to do a touch up job for him to make sure no rusts forms on the body panel.
Here is my question: I am gonna be using the duplicolor touch up paint bottle. Normally a leveling fluid is used to make the touch up paint flush with the rest of the paint job. I won't have time to order a kit with the leveling fluid.
What do you suggest I do? Should I use some kind of paint thinner to do the job, I assume that is what the leveling fluid is... so can it be replaced by mineral spirit or something else?
If not, can a heavy compounding be enough to do a good job? I will be using a Meg's Dual Action with a 3" backplate. I was thinking yellow pad with M105 for the initial work followed by Ultimate Compound and finished with M205.
Any suggestions or comments welcome.
