Good day to everyone.
I was just wandering if anyone has ever had any experience with a 2014 or 2015 Dodge Viper. If so I'm wondering is this soft, medium, or hard. Also has anyone had any success with any particular products or pads. I have only seen pic of the car which has 200 miles on it but from what the owner says its pretty scrarched up from dry whipping while the car was on the dealership floor for a year. I have some ideas of my approach but trying to game plan and see what the experts think. Thank you in advance for the input.

From what I've read, domestic cars (Dodge, Ford, etc.) tend to have hard paint. But that is just from what ive read from scanning through the forums.

When it comes to paint correction I use M105 for really beat up and scratched paint and followed up by M205 polish after that. I'd do a test spot first with the least aggresive product and pad combo and go more aggressive from there until you find what works.

I haven't worked on a newer Viper so don't know what factory paint is like now days but suffice to say no matter where the paint falls in the soft/hard paint spectrum you'll need,

Machine
Pads
Products

To undo the damage and to keep the car pretty the rest of the time you own it.

What do you have for,

Tools?
Pads?
Products?

Cool car by the way...

I have have foam, micro fiber, and foam pads. I also fave the flex da and 14 polisher. My normal products are the mizerna line or the macguires mf polish system. I have done several corvettes and stingrays and have had a lot of success with the micro fiber pads and fg 400. I plan on doing some test posts but from what I've learned the paint is about the same. Just trying to see if others have went a different route with great success. Thanks again for the help Mike.

Just a little follow up on this project. I had to try a few different products and pad until I found something that I felt was producing a result I was happy with. There were so many scratches and swirls from being dry rubbed for a year on the dealership floor. The car had 300 miles on it. I try to use examples like this to show potential clients new cars need work. After the washing and claying process I finally settled on mezerna FG400 with the maguires micro fiber extra cut compunding pads. It finished up well enought to follow with SF4500. Lastly was prep work and coating. I hope my results are helpful to others.

when in doubt about how the paint is , just claybar the car, that will show you if is soft medium or hard paint.
do a test panel for what works and you are all set.
