Perhaps one of the first "COATINGS".

nice stuff Tim,and still on the shelves at many auto part retail stores.

i WONDER WHO HAVE EVER TRIED IT FOR NOSTALGIC PURPOSES? i`M SURE MIKE PROBABLY KNOWS ABOUT IT.

It's more of a concealer for swirls and such, great on black cars.

Out of high school, like in 89 , a pal of mine used to use it on his "muscle car" and it always looked great. Nothing stuck to it if i remember correctly.

Yep...This comes up ever so often.
From ~3 years ago:

Liquid Glass is cleaner/wax.

That is it will clean, polish and leave some type of "protection" behind on the surface, not really a "wax" per se, but it falls into the cleaner/wax category.

Vintage Liquid Glass Pictures

Jimmy Buff-it, a friend of mine and a Pro Detailer in Indianapolis sent me this vintage can of Liquid Glass for my antique car wax collection.

My son wanted to see what it looked like under a Black Light...

If you're applying this by machine, be sure to do a Test Spot first and try to use a very soft foam pad. Make sure it's clean too...

This product uses some type of chemical cleaners to "clean" the surface so make sure two wash the car thoroughly to remove any loose dirt first.

:)

i've got a partial can on the shelf and I see it at Auto Zone every time I'm scanning the car care aisle. It's ridiculously expensive for what it is/does. It's a very short term topical. When you first apply it, the finish looks... well, like glass. Maybe, and I'm not saying definitely but maybe, even shinier that Dura Gloss AquaWax, maybe. But it only lasts for a couple of days and it's completely dissipated. Very to apply and remove but for the price, there's so many better products out there. From what I've gathered, it's still formulated the same way it was when it came out. As we know, technology has brought car care products a long, long way since then.
One thing that stands out is something it says in the directions. Something to the effect of "using a Turkish towel" to apply and remove it. to this day, I have no clue what a Turkish towel is. LOL!
