Hey guys! I have a 350z and I am looking to get a vanity license plate for it. I am between two ideas ("shift-z" or "10til4-z"), but I welcome other ideas! What does everyone think?

wishing it was a vette, sorry could not resist Im the MAN

i do like the names you came up with, huge fan of the old 240 and 260z models, good luck

10 til 4...I like that, it took me a while to get it, but that's what makes it good.

i am leaning toward 10til4-z but i didnt know if everyone would get it. For the people who can't figure it out...the time 10 til 4=3:50

O.K. I'll be the killjoy.

It's a PERSONALIZED plate. if you use somebody else's idea, it ain't personal.

That said, I hate personalized plates with some horrid misspelled variant of the car model. I also don't care if anybody "gets" the plate.

These are my choices for a 350 Z

My absolute favorite personalized plate:

O0O0O0O

(Zero-Ocean-Zero-Ocean-Zero-Ocean-Zero)

The California DMV wouldn't let me have it.- one of the reasons I got out of that place. Can you imagine the California Highway Patrolman calling it in?

"10-28 and 10-29 on California Zero zero....I mean Ocean Zero...Strike that - Zero Ocean Ocean Ocean... Oh, never mind.)

For God's sake, if you get 10TIL4 leave out the "Z"

I had "1225KPH" and currently have "X1" on one of my cars and I don't care if I'm the only one who knows what the plates mean.

Shoot, those were a lot easier to get than 10-til-4! Of course your screen name and avatar kind of point you in the right direction.

Another good one is wvwvwvw or 8B888B8. It just looks like a bunch of zig-zags or 8's. Plain 10til4 (with or without spaces) is already registered in my state, so the closest available is 10til4-z....that seems to be the problem with most of the ones that I really like. I don't want get anything like "2fast4u" since I am graduating soon and I don't want to give possible employers/co-workers/clients the wrong idea. Thanks for everyones input and ideas! I submitted the paperwork and I chose (1st choice) 10TIL4-Z (2nd choice) SHIFT-Z (3rd choice) MATTS-Z

Plates like 2FAST4U are high schoolish and stupid unless you like talking with LEOs on the side of the road. Besides, a 350Z isn't that fast. Come on, admit it. Even with a bunch of Nismo Fast & Furious parts on it, it just isn't.

I am going to be the bigger person here and not even entertain that thought....have a nice day bud! :xyxthumbs:

Huh? You admitted to not wanting a plate that would give employers the wrong idea. That would be a childish plate.

I wouldn't even entertain the idea of a license plate claiming any sort of speed superiority unless it is bolted to a Bugatti Veryon Super Sport or Shelby Super Cars Ultimate Aero. Even then, it's childish.

Just how quick and fast is that 350Z?Im the MAN

Cray-Z for paying extra for a license plate. Just my opinion, your money.

The California DMV took a motorist to court demanding the return of personalized plate

NO PLATE.

California police officers write "no plate" on the ticket form under "License Plate" ewhen the vehicle doesn't have plates.

Every ticket written for vehicles without plates was sent to the owner of NO PLATE.

Now that I know that your definition of fast is a bugatti or shelby (and an accurate definition I might add), I'll agree that my car is quick not fast. :xyxthumbs: And I'll just leave it at this...a good friend is a co-owner of a performance/transmission shop and has his own race team of dragsters, willys, and a funny car. So it is not an issue to get parts cheap and mechanics that have the knowledge to do more than just "fast and the furious" bolt-ons.

I think the best personalized plate I ever saw on a Japanese car is owned by an actor, on his Nissan something or other. The plate said, "HOT SAKE" Awesome. rice burner=Hot sake. That's very nice indeed. XB70 Has a point, though, in that the plate name should ultimately be your own idea to truly make a statement as to how YOU feel about the car.

In case you don't know, and the above post proves you do not....

Quickness measures time to speed.

Fast is a measure top the highest attainable speed.

I Googled 0-60 350Z and came up with a Motor Trend Test of 2005 Mustang GT and 350Z convertibles with manual transmissions.

Mustang 350Z

ZERO TO

30 = 2.0 2.1
40 = 3.0 3.2
50 = 4.1 4.4
60 = 5.4 5.8
70 = 7.2 7.8
80 = 9.2 9.8
90 = 11.4 12.4
100 = 13.3 15.3

Yup the 350Z is two seconds slower 0 - 100 MPH than a Mustang GT. The coupe 350Z is quicker, but so is the hardtop Mustang.

Quick? Ha!

Oh, look. Motor Trend says a 350Z Touring Roadster is slower than BMW Z4 and Pontiac Solstice GPX convertibles!

2006 BMW Z4 3.0si vs. 2006 Nissan 350Z Roadster vs. 2007 Pontiac Solstice GXP Specs & Pricing - Sport Convertible Coupe Comparison & Review - Motor Trend

Here, motor trend says a 2006 350Z coupe does 0 - 60MPH in 5.5 seconds, which is slower than the 2005 Mustang GT Pig Convertible's 5.4 second time.

If you knew anything about the Z, you would know that they made some changes to the engine in 2006 and gave it a new engine in 2007. Regardless, those numbers are for a stock 350, which mine is far from. The roadster also adds a considerable amount of weight because it is convertible. In addition, the mustang gt has a 4.6L V8 engine which is 1.1L larger than the 350z and is only 0.4 seconds faster in 0-60? That's sad... For my plate maybe I should get "pd cash" (paid cash in case you couldn't figure it out :xyxthumbs:) I bet you'll have something to say back, which shows that you must lead a pretty boring life if you have nothing else better to do than argue with a 20 year old kid online. :poke:. Something to keep in mind: It doesn't matter how fast your car is, it's whether or not you can drive it well. Basically, maybe you should think about getting driving lessons...Im the MAN Anyway, I am done with this thread. Have a nice day and I wish you all the best! :props:

If you reread my post, I included a 2006 350Z coupe 0-60 time from Motor Trend proving the 2006 350Z coupe IS SLOWER THAN A 2005 Mustang Pig Convertible GT.

I paid cash for my Mach 1, F250 and my house. I do not have PD CASH on either plate.

Do Boundurant, Sharp and an SCCA license count in your book, Skippy?:xyxthumbs:
