Phone number on buiness cards..

Originally we posted our 800 number on our business cards and that was it. Since we are not mobile, would it be better to post a local number or does it not matter? I stop by a number of locations that I drop stacks off at and they are usually gone. We still have very few calls.

Two things can happen here:

1. People us the card for the website url and then when they see our prices, they fold. Some people have trouble paying for a professional detail - they do not understand the hours involved and the process - they only see the price.

2. And this has happened to me. Drop off cards, they are gone quickly. Find out a competitor was taking the cards and throwing them in the trash. He was caught by the owner of the store - who told him never to come back.

I was thinking of removing the pricing from our site.

Sad about the business cards and competitors being jerk bags.

We mainly use the pinup boards. I have a little larger card that I place behind the business cards so they stand out and so I can see all the pinholes in the back card from where people are actually taking one at a time and not all at once.

Direct mail advertising has a very low response rate. Similarly, even thought a lot of people may be taking your cards, I would expect that very few would actually call.

Craigslist! I've been getting 3-4 calls a week from that. I can't always do it for them, but it's nice to know people are calling.
