Pickup truck bed

Hey guys, I'll be detailing a pickup truck soon, and I'd like to know how you like to clean out the bed of the truck. I've never owned one and while I know that many are some type of coated plastic compound I'm unsure of the best way to go about making it clean and shiny. I'm assuming I'll spray it down with APC+ 10:1, agitate, and rinse, but should I use my car wash solution instead? Should I protect it with a product as well?

If you have a pressure washer, use that. Be careful on the spray in style liners though not to lift up any of the coating.
If it is just a plastic liner though, hit it hard with the PW and it's clean.

If you don't have a pressure washer, depending on the level of staining in the liner, APC+ at a stronger dilution may be required. I have had better luck with the APC+ than any other degreaser/wash. Then like you said, agitate and rinse.

I wouldn't worry about protection, as the plastic liners are so durable, and the plastic seems to be pretty weather resistant.

Fantastic, thanks a lot! No pressure washer here, I don't even think I can fit one in my detailing truck!

If no bedliner, I put a coat of cleaner wax on mine.

Yea, the Miata might make it tough to hall around a pressure washer.

Like Finemess said - if it is just painted, hit with a coat of cleaner wax after washing it.

If there are bad stains in it, you may have to let the APC+ sit a little while. Honestly I had one detail where the truck had a spray in liner and it was rust stained so bad I couldn't get it out with the cleaner, and it was before I had my PW. Customer understood though, it was a truck that he worked out of heavily.

Haha, an Accord would be like a truck compared to my little matchbox car in terms of carrying capacity =p

hahaha sorry juast noticed that now. I took a second look and thought to myself, oops it's a miata. That must be tough though . . . . sometimes the simple setups are the best.
 
Hey I'm just taking what I've got to work with and making it work for me. All my products and small tools go in the trunk, and my vacuum, MF towels, detailing toolbox, and buckets go in the passenger compartment after I remove the seat. I just set it all up for a detail in the morning, I can take a picture if you'd like.
 
One of those new fangled pump sprayers with some APC would make covering a truck bed much easier. Scrub with a brush or push broom is my favorite, then rinse out.
 
Thank you, I think I'm going to use one of my long-necked brushes with some 10:1 APC+ en masse.

I even had space to pack in my rock climbing equipment next to my vacuum cleaner there.... so much extra room I might as well bring someone along for the trip!
