Pictures: 1947 John Deere Tractor - Show Tractor Makeover!

Every Farm Tractor deserves a show car finish! Here's a unique project we undertook here at Autogeek's Show Car Garage and that is to prep and wax this 1947 John Deere Tractor for Parades and Special Events here in the Stuart, Florida area.

Here's what she looked like when she arrived....

Here are a few before pictures... the paint is not in horrible condition but it's dull and lifeless because it craves some attention....

First time we've detailed a farm implement here at the Show Car Garage!

This tractor will be at the Stuart Air Show all weekend pulling a wagon filled with passengers from the parking lot to the air show. So check it out if you're going to the air show.

:)

Frankly it is in remarkable condition for being two years older than I am in the befores!

We started out hand rubbing the single stage paint using the Uber All-In-One using microfiber applicator pads. This was a safe, easy approach that will work to brighten up any paint on any farm implement and also the car in your garage!

Then after removing the oxidation and restoring clarity to the finish we machine applied some Pinnacle Black Label Synergy to maximize the gloss and shine.

John using the Griot's Garage 3" Mini Polisher to machine apply Synergy.

Here's Al working on the front of the tractor....

Afterwards a gentle buffing to remove all the wax.

Definitively have to take-off my hat for this one, what an assertive work plan!

From a dulled finish to a glossy shine in single steps, working the AIO by hand - nice, simply nice.

I've stated in my signature how much pleased I'm by simplicity, this is the kind of work I'd love to be part someday.

Please, by simplicity I don't mean easy work!

*PS: Yesterday I was 'craving for' a Pizza, now I know why... you've been adding pizza beauty shots to recent threads, and let me tell you they look pretty tasty!

Thanks for sharing,

Congratulations to you all who participated in this project.

Kind Regards.

I kept this project simple on purspose....

KISS = Keep it Simple Simon....

It's just sometimes the simple approach is the best approach....

Thanks for taking the time to chime in Raphael, I always appreciate your comments and feedback. Takes a little time to do any write-up. It's easy to click on something and scan it but taking the time to click on the [Post Reply] button on any thread is always appreciated.

Surely something you don't see in the AG garage everyday. Very nice change to see something rather unusual getting some attention.

That tractor turned out great and will be a real beauty queen pulling loads of passengers. Well done boys.

Hey Mike, grab a set of those rear tractor tires and use them as "Boggers" under your Chevy. :xyxthumbs:

Simply stunning work team!!! :dblthumb2:

Not the usual for sure but definitely a fun project! Polished up great guys! :xyxthumbs: Really want to get my hands on some Wolfgang AIO also.

Well done people, top work!!! "Nothing runs like a Deere"

Thanks for an opportunity to work on this classic tractor, Mike. It was a satisfying improvement on a relatively well-maintained tractor. The Wolfgang Uber All-in-One cleaned and polished the paint in a short period of time and provided some much-needed gloss. This is my second project using the new product and I am really impressed with how easily it is applied and removed. Thanks, again. Travel safely to SEMA. See you next time.

Definitely the first time I've buffed out a John Deere Tractor. I've polished on Pape Cat Scoops but not farm tractors.
