***Update***
My co-worker Jason and I spent the entire day setting up the garage for the three day class. Still more work to do tomorrow to make sure the class runs smooth and everything is as streamline as possible.
So far, 6 of the 15 cars that will be used for our 3-day Competition Ready Detailing Class have shown up. Don't be fooled by the shine under the florescent lights, each car has specific paint problems
and as normal, I've already captured the true condition of each car as they arrived with my trusty, dusty Canon Rebel.
Here's how Autogeek's Show Car Garage looks tonight right before I set the alarm and lock the door...
1967 Chevelle - 427 BBC
1957 Ford Fairlane - Remember Fairlane Ford (the movie)
1941 Buick Convertible - 454 BBC
1968 Charger RT - 440 4-speed car
1950 Hudson
1967 Oldsmobile Cutlass - 425 BBO
And this is just 6 of the cars the guys attending this class will learn the art of polishing paint to do true show car quality paint correction, polishing and sealing.
If you want to learn show car detailing - it helps to learn on the
real deal.
I use the term,
The art of polishing paint
Because when you're working on the kind of cars you see in the pictures above it's a LOT more than, step 1, step 2, step 3 etc.,
We as artisans bring how I describe this type of work in the introduction to my how-to book,
The Complete Guide to a Show Car Shine, that is we bring the human elements of caring and passion. Caring about what you do even when it's not your car. And a passion for perfection, a passion for always doing your best no matter the car or the owner.
Yes, car detailing is a professional craft, but when you take it to the extreme like I do, and like I teach, then it becomes an art form.
And at our Competition Ready classes... you get to use ALL the tools everyone talks about... (that's why there's so many cars). You get TONS of hands-on time with RUPES, FLEX, Griot's and even Cyclo. You get to use multiple compounds, polishes, waxes, sealants and ceramic coatings. And this is just for the show car detailing segment of the class. Wait till you see the pictures.
These classes are the most hands-on, all-encompassing classes on planet Earth. I guarantee it.
