Pictures: King Neptune's - Rods in the Pocket Car Show

Nick, Jason and I attended the 2nd Annual King Neptune's - Rods in the Pocket Car Show to help raise money for "Santa's Helpers" for Martin County and the weather was perfect and the cars that turned out were great.

Cars arriving first thing in the morning, these two Camaro's are owned by a husband/wife team...

Throughout the day raffle prizes were drawn,

Autogeek provided 8 of the prizes including 6 Griot's Polishers, a Pinnacle Detailing Kit and an Autogeek Detailing Bag.

One of the winners of one of the Griot's polishers was Ken Evans who also came to Autogeek for the first time last Thursday to helps us with our Extreme Makeover of my buddy Jay's 1999 Trans Am.

Cool Cars at the Car Show
Here's some pictures of some of the cars at the show, about half of them had what I would call a "nice finish" and the other half were all in need of some proper machine polishing to remove swirls, stains, scratches, water spots and oxidation...

The paint had a lot of stains, swirls and oxidation and could really use a show car makeover to perfect it.

My buddy Carlos owns this sweet old Chevrolet.

Carlos is the same guy that did this after we had him and his 1963 Plymouth Fury on our TV show, "What's in Autogeek's Garage"

On my left is Frank Hawely, my guest celebrity for two episodes...

Here's Carlos and me getting a shot with his car on the set...
1963PlymouthFury008.jpg

Here Carlos is saying something but I'm not sure what as his Plymouth Fury is kind of loud... in hindsight I think he was saying...

"I'll do a burn-out as I leave"

I didn't hear what he said but I heard his tires when they started talking!

I quickly grabbed my trusty, dusty Canon Rebel and snapped a few pictures...

Carlos really laid down some rubber!

And the tire marks are still out front of Autogeek today...

Here's my buddy Ken's hotrod Model T. Ken was also on our TV show...

Enjoy!

Wow, a Sunbeam Tiger! Been many years since I've seen one of those, they were a rapid lil critter.

Side note: That was one of my dad's dream cars...never happened for him (he passed away before he could convince Mom of 'the need'.)

This car was at the show too...

Wheelin the paint on a Proweler...

Looks like someone wheeled the paint on this Prowler. The holograms or "rotary buffer swirls" in the paint were horrendous, almost looks like someone did it on person to give the paint a "swirl design".

This Prowler was driving by so it was hard to get a great shot so here's what I did get but I think you get the idea...

:dunno:

If anyone knows the owner of this car, let him know we can show him how to remove the swirls and put a finish on the car that looks more like the finish we put on this Chevy SSR

2004 Chevy SSR - Extreme Makeover by Blackfire - Modeled by Tasha

Here's my friend Sharif's black 2004 Chevy SSR right after he arrived and we moved the SSR into Autogeek's Show Car Garage...

Here's how it looked when it arrived...
ChevySSR001.jpg

To say the paint was in good shape or bad shape depends upon your point of view...

If you're hoping for a a lot of swirls and scratches to make buffing out the paint a challenge, then the paint is in excellent condition.

If you're inspecting the paint and trying to categorize the condition of the paint in an accurate manner... then it's a swirled out mess!

We like the challenge so we thought the paint looked horrible but in a great kind of way! :D

The paint literally looked like it was washed with a scotch brite pad...
