has anyone else used this product? i was wondering how it compares to bfwd i switched from nxt 2.0 to this and it seems to give the best shine and cuts down on how much debris collect inbetween washes.

pig snot is the name of the company. the stuff i am reffering too is pig snot ultimate detailing wax it comes in a 32 ounce bottle. i have tried a few over the counter products and this one really stands out. out of the turtle wax hard shell, griots, turtle wax ice, nxt, nxt2.0 which is way better than the original, meguiars ultimate paste, mothers carnuba, and zymol, pig snot stands out for a couple of reasons. 1st it goes on like the nxt 2.0 only it doesnt leave as much of a haze. 2nd if comes off real easy. 3rd it leaves a better shine on my car than the above including the nxt2.0 which i think is a very good product. and 4th my favorite and most noticable thing is its ability to repel dirt, grime, water and whatever else. this was very noticable cause i wax my car very frequently no less than once a month and wash every week. the first time i used it i noticed within a day cause the salt trucks were out and it snowed/rained and for some reason my cars rear bumper collects soooo much dust and road grime ( im assuming because of aerodynamics). after the week i went to my local car wash to do my weekly wash and immediatly noticed the rear bumper wasnt clean but it wasnt nearly as dirty as it usually is so i went ahead and did the normal turn the sprayer on rinse and rinse out the brush then i rinsed my car and honestly it looked like i had just washed it and rewaxed it i could see the film of dirt come right off and the water sheathed off more than usual too. i was very happy with it. i was so impressed i took a picture and posted it on here somewhere (i did rewax it just because i do that most weeks if i have time). now i dont know how the durability is cause i wax all the time but i dont know what the durability is of any of the rest of the waxes i posted above are either. one more thing ive noticed is the bugs on the front of the car rinse right off where as before griots was the 2nd best at this but always left one or two you have to get off by hand. and ive noticed that bugs dont enjoy the scent as much. i think i had the worst problems with meguiars ultimate paste. it smelled so freaking good i couldnt wax a panel without a knat or some sort of bug gluing itself to the panel and for good reason cause i was half tempted to taste it myself jk. but the whole reason for posting this was i always hear of good products on hear and before i bought any i wanted to make sure they do a better job. and as a side note. in my opinion rainx sucks. it works good but leaves a god awful film that makes me not want to use it. is there an alternative? thanks in advance.

I was wondering what "Pig Snot" was, I've seen it referenced here on occasion, usually held in high regard too...

NXT 2.0 is at the bottom of the barrel as far as I am concerned. Almost anything would be better. Never heard of the one you are referring to though.

nxt is so easy to use and it leaves a pretty good shine. i like griots better but its harder to remove and a little dusty

i didnt use nxt 2.0 as often as others cause i think it has cleaners in it but when i did it seemed to do a decent job. also meguiars white wax should of been in that list but i only used it once cause of the cleaners too. pig snot is like a trumph card compared to the others

-Some members of Biker 'Clubs' around my area used to think Pig Snot was the schnitz un gnepp!

-One of my favorite sayings come to mind whenever I hear this product mentioned:
"I ain't had this much FUN since the hogs ate my little Brother"!! ~ Author Unknown

-Here's one of my favorite Mr. Mike Phillips' adages:
"Find something you like and use it often"

As such, OP...(and per your above post):
-Sounds like you're pretty satisfied with Pig Snot.
Just don't go and get too snooty.

I found an almost full bottle in my detailing supplies. The HD dealer UPC sticker has a 06/2005 date on it. I tried a small area and it seems to do a good job.

yeah i actually got it at a harley dealer. i figured that people love their bikes and are alway wipin them down so ill go and see what they use. i walked up to the counter and asked the part guy what he likes to use and he said he loves pig snot. he said it protects really good from gas on the tank and also leaves the best shine. so i bought it and im thinkin about trying there quick detailer and sloppy sudz

My friend used Pig Snot on his 2001 Cummins 3500 Single Cab Black Metalic Paint, and mind you he doesnt know a thing about detailing. I am not gonna lie I was supper impressed!! This truck looked freaking amazing and he didnt even decontaminate the vehicle like I said he doesnt know a thing! Just that the truck looked flawless!!!

i was told this weekend at the carwash that i should not wax more than once every 2 months buy a guy that supposedly does body work. what he said makes sence but i was a little skeptical cause i havnt had this happen to me. he looked at my bottle and said it says it contains wax and wax yellows if applied too often. i told him i apply somtimes 3 times a month. he said that i shouldnt do that. i told him i drive alot and it makes cleaning alot easier and also its honestly a little theroputic. anyway my car in my opinion looks better than the day i bought it and i dont see a hint of yellow. i have used about 13 different waxes on it but the last few months i have only used pig snot seeing as how i like it. should i stop or is this guy just pullin my chain?

Ok, don't listen to that guy, he doesn't know what he's talking about.

Second, I read the word "brush" in one of your posts connected with phrases about washing your car and being in the self-serve car wash. I'm sure you don't use that brush to wash your car (in case you didn't know that will cause you to be ejected from the forum). The proper Autogeekian way to use the self-serve is to rinse the car with their pressure wand and bring your own bucket and wash media.

I don't know about Pig Snot, but most of the other "waxes" you mentioned are pretty mediocre and leave a lot to be desired. There are some great products here at Autogeek, but with great products come great responsibility (I heard that in a movie or a comic book, I might not have gotten the quote right). What I mean is using great products isn't worth it if you don't tune up your technique, make sure your paint is clean first, your maintenance washing is done well, etc.

PS I was just kidding about that forum ejection stuff.

yeah i use the brushes and i know its frowned upon but i do pressure wash them before i use them and i havent had any swirls because of it so i still do it i dont really even use the two bucket system when i wash at home. im no detailer for sure. i just like to keep the car clean and lookin good. im glad he dosnt know what hes talkin about cause i enjoy waxin the car whenever i can. i think he was tryin to be helpful but just maby like you said didnt know what he was talkin about and i sure wasnt going to disagree cause that would be like the blind leading the blind so i just told him i had never heard of that. like i said though i have never had any issues. how do i make sure my paint is clean? i wash once a week and wax often i use to clay every couple of months with a mothers clay kit but i havent had to in about 3 months. i check with a plastic baggie and just feel for any spots and currently i have none. when at home i use dawn and water and when at the car wash i use whatever they have. i use meguiars hot show tire foam on the wheels then after i wash i use turtlewax ice on the tires and plastic. it dosnt last as long a meguiars trim stuff but it also dosnt sling like the meguiars and since i put it on every wash it stays lookin good. i always like the advise. what is your favorite wax or sealant. ive been lookin at bfwd for a while now and everyone that uses it swears by it i would just want it to make a noticable difference from what i currently use before i make the dive.

Nice sheen man - but using brushes will induce micro scratches at the least because many on here see it daily from new clients. I love grey - silver cars cause they show very few imperfections, but get your ride out of the shade and take a good solid sun shot and post it. The product sounds very interesting and most on here like myself will try almost any product with potential. Posting that using a brush will not induce swirls will only lesson the credibility of the product. I love the name pig snot personally but would not tell a client that we are putting pig snot on their car! Id still like to check it out though. Thanks for sharing.

will do i will take some pics this weekend or sometime next week. ill probly put 1500 miles on the car between now and monday so i might wash it monday. so just pictures in the sun or with a light on it too? a side note i did not say that using a brush will not induce swirls i just said i havent had any yet so i dont worry about it. sorry if it seemed like i implied brushing will absolutly not produce swirls. kinda like if i said i speed all the time and i havnt gotten a ticket yet. i did not say speeding will not yeild a ticket just that i havent gotten one. i have no vested interest in this product other than i hope someone tries it and does a side by side with some of the waxes or sealants on here and post photos showing how bad it is compared to there favorite so i can go pick up a bottle of what they use. that way i dont have to try 40 different expensive waxes to see what i like.that was a paralepsis. my new favorite word. i do like what i use but if it was one of the best i assume there would be more people using it. maby the name is that big of a turnoff? it does work better than what i already have but ive been informed that otc stuff is mediocur.
