Hi,
would Pinnacle Paintwork Cleansing Lotion or Pinn Advanced Finishing Polish be the better product for a new Honda Accord (silver metallic paint) after wash and Iron-X and clay, before final sealant?

PPCL was my choice, described as mild polish but description talks about removing swirls and scratches which will be very few. I think it says "non-abrasive".

Adv Fin Polish is described as using "diminishing abrasives".

Is PPCL the better choice (less aggressive) of the two or is there some other better choice?
Probably hand application, not machine.

Thanks

I personally would use Pinnacle Paint Cleansing Lotion. Mainly because your car is new and is silver. With that said I am guessing and hoping that the paint is in great condition. So a light paint cleaner would thoroughly cleanse the paint and fill in some very light imperfections.

The Paint Cleansing Lotion will not cut into the clear coat but the Advanced Finishing Polish will remove a little clear.

Thank you,
exactly what I wanted to know.
I'll use the Cleansing Lotion.

Used the cleansing lotion last weekend and it did great for cleaning the paint. My white paint was once again bright white. Didn't notice much filling but I was looking more for cleaning and it did great. A+ on this product.

Unless you have visible swirls, the paint cleanser is the way to go. Don't polish anything, even with mild abrasives, if it's not required. The paint cleanser should get your paint in great shape for wax. You may want to do a "baggy test" to see if you need to clay. Sometimes new cars need to be clayed due to contaminants being taken up by the paint during shipping.

The Paintwork Cleansing Lotion says it's non-abrasive but I think that's just their marketing folks thinking the word abrasive scares people.

It must have some fine abrasives because they also say "the formula makes swirls less noticeable by rounding the edges" which is impossible without some level of abrasive. That shouldn't cause concern since the abrasives have to be very fine to do that.

I like the stuff, but I actually like the older pre-VOC version better (in spite of the nasty strong citrus smell) since it gave more of a squeaky-clean feedback as you applied it.

I'll be comapring it to Prima Amigo soon and I'm anxious to see the results.
