This is my review of one of the latest offerings from Pinnacle which is the Advanced Insect Remover. I was sent a few of the new Pinnacle product releases for review and testing. The test vehicle is a 2010 Volkswagen Jetta Hybrid which had some nasty bug buildup and etching on the front end.
Product Description:
Pinnacle Advanced Insect Remover is a safe and effective alternative to the other harsh and risky insect cleaners that are on the market today. Instead of using solvents or acids, Pinnacle Advanced Insect Remover uses cleaners that are guaranteed safe for all paint, glass, chrome, and plastic surfaces. Pinnacle Advanced Insect Remover is such an effective insect remover that you will rarely even have to use any sort of agitation to sufficiently remove the bug residue from your vehicle’s surfaces.
Cost: $19.99 for 16 ounces
Directions for Use:
Only use Pinnacle Advanced Insect Remover out of direct sunlight and on a cool surface.
1. Spray Pinnacle Advanced Insect Remover directly onto the surface.
2. Allow the product to dwell and penetrate for 3-5 minutes.
3. In extreme cases, you may need to agitate the surface with a Pinnacle Safe Scrub Bug & Tar Pad.
4. Thoroughly rinse the surface with clean, fresh water.
5. Wash your car as normal after application.
Thoughts, Observations, and Usage:
I applied Pinnacle Advanced Insect Remover liberally to the front end of the test vehicle and allowed it to dwell for approximately 4 minutes. Although the direction state that agitation is not really needed I decided to agitate the surface with a Pinnacle soft bug sponge to speed up the cleaning. I then rinsed thoroughly. The vehicle had deep bug etching in the clear coat that was not able to be removed but the bulk of the loose bug stains etc were removed with ease.
1-Scent-The product has a clean mild scent that is not overly powerful or caustic.
2-Cleaning ability-The product cleaned very well with minimal agitation and rinsed away very clean
3-Dilution-One of the things I noticed about Pinnacle Advanced Insect Remover is that there is no mention on the product instructions if the product can be diluted to preserved your LSP. If I was to use this product again I would probably dilute the product to a 4:1 ratio. The 16 ounce bottle would last much longer and would ensure no degradation of the LSP on the finish. The product description states that it can be used on multiple surfaces including plastic, chrome, glass, and paint which is a bonus. In conclusion Pinnacle Advanced Insect Remover performed very well compared to other bug removers on the market and I would recommend it.
