Hi All,

I have Rupes Bigfoot Mini that I use to polish tight spaces on m boat and car. A couple of days ago I saw a fellow boater use the cordless PXE 80 on his boat and it looked like a great machine. Cordless is big plus for me.

I wonder if I could replace the Mini with this machine and at the same time also get other options like running even smaller pads? Looking at the specs it certainly looks like it?

I think someone sold off his Mini after getting PXE.

And yes. You can run 1" pads as well as the 3"

I sold my Rupes mini and replaced it with the PXE 80. I still have my original PC 7424XP that I have as a dedicated 3" polisher. I sold the rupes mini as I was tired of all the stalling. The PXE is a good polisher and at times it makes for a good replacement. Other times I reach for the porter cable as a corded polisher still has more power.

I use the ibrid nano pads with the pxe 80.

Ok, then I have sold the Mini and so far I am very happy. Two main reasons:

1. Cordless, just so convenient
2. With this machine you get so much functionality packed into one piece. Both rotary and DA, and different pad sizes.

I was just debating the same thing...I was originally going to get the Rupes LHR 75E but saw these videos of the Flex PXE 80. I really liked the various uses of the Flex from going to 1" to 3" pads. I was worried about the power of the FLEX and it's cutting ability since it's run off Lithium Ion batteries vs being corded. How do you like it so far? Do you recommend I just get the FLEX instead of the RUPES or even a FLEX XFE 7-12?

I will be picking up a corded 3 inch polisher again at some point. Will go with the flex this time. I’m getting by with the PC 7424XP as a 3 inch but it’s not as smooth on the hands.

The PXE 80 is good. But still lacks the power of a corded tool. Like all things it has it’s pros and cons.

It`s great!, I have used it on both my car and boat. Dont worry about power, it has plenty.

I don’t agree with the plenty of power comment. I brought one in to replace a G8 and was really stunned by the lack of power. I understand the cordless vs corded but I struggle with paying 2x the price for a G8 only to find the PXE underpowered and easily stalled. I really see this as a very light duty buffer with 20 minute battery run time at best.
