Just got my new car but my wife’s Navigator is a 2014 model. It looks nice, runs well (so far), and doesn’t show too much age. When I talked with her about it being close to time to change tires, she said something about not keeping it too long. If she means getting a new navigator*, it’ll be 1-2 years to save up enough to pay cash for it. What protection would you put on in this case? Sealant? Light coating? Same as always? If she was keeping it like I thought we were, I was thinking of one of the DIY coatings (pending how well I like them when I put the stack on).

*she could me selling hers and not replacing it (she keeps taking my Bronco instead of hers).

EXOv5. Quite possibly the easiest coating to apply and for a two year coating it’s at the top of my list.

This probably doesn't help you much, but every time I get a car that I don't think I'm going to keep that long...it winds up being a lot longer than I think.

That’s entirely possible. She has said this is her dream car and often said how well she likes it. However, when we were picking up my Bronco, the salesman showed her the mid-model refresh on the current navigator and I think she really liked it.

A lot of life can happen in a year or two.

For this very reason, I'd treat it like you always have and just coat it again. The only time I'd make any changes to the detail routine for our cars is if I was committed to unloading it in a few months and seriously shopping for a replacement.
