I have a set of cold cathode flourescent rings installed into my headlights. To light up, I have them spliced into my parking lights. The splices then run into a set of ballasts and then go to the rings. These ballasts are really susceptible to water. I've already lost 2 to water getting on them during washing/raining etc. I have seen a liquid that you dip stuff into and then it dries to form a rubber/plastic coating. Anyone know where I can find this stuff (preferrably in a black color)?

saw it just the other day at Harbour Freight (SP??) its made for tools, and rubberizes the handles. Cheap also ...

There's stuff called Liquid Electrical Tape which is made specifically for that purpose. I used it on some of my marine connections and was a little disappointed, took MANY coats to get to a thickness I felt comfortable with.

I also have used the Plastidip for coating handles on some tools and bike components, don't know how well it would work in comparison to the Liquid Electrical Tape for coating wires.

Again, PM me if you'd like to use some.
