Plastic glass

You know that most stereos, radios in cars have that plastic glass window. Well, I would like to remove some fine hair scratches from the plastic....any ideas what to use for this? I tried using one product on my speedometer and tacometer windows and it put in more scratches?

What product did you use? What did you apply it with? By hand or machine?
