plastic polish/compund

Can somebody recommend a plastic polish or even better compound(if there is such a thing) to clean, polish, and remove swirl-like marks on chrome-plated plastic? I gave Mother's plastic polish a shot and it did not do much in terms of removing the swirl-like marks.
