When I saw the title of your thread the thought of forum creep came to mind, that's where on a forum you add more and more forum groups and sub-forum groups, pretty soon it's so confusing. :)

Then just for fun, I went to Skynet and typed in,

and pulled up most of the above. Ding dang, sometimes I forget what I write.

I compiled that list in about 10 minutes using Skynet.

I might have more, don't remember. TONS of info in just the above articles.

It amazes me how you're able to find your old articles so fast. I always wondered if you kept a catalog with the links, making it easy to find, and click/copy/paste.

Anyway, I too use Skynet with your name and other keywords to find your articles. BUT, that's based on those I KNOW about and have read :)

If I understand OP’s question correctly, I thought he’s requesting a new forum topic for current and future coating threads, as much as summaries of past threads? I may have misunderstood. I do that sometimes.

I think what he means is for us to create a dedicated forum GROUP.


This thread is posted in the Hot topics & Frequently Asked Questions GROUP. Another example is there's a dedicated GROUP for wetsanding and even asking yours truly questions.

This thread was started as I was leaving for a Roadshow Class in Colorado, this one,

I haven't given the suggestion to create a new group much though as I've been a tick busy since then. There is an issue with forums growing called, Forum Group Creep, that is it's all to easy to add more and more GROUPS until the forum is simply to messy and complicated to navigate and I think this forum is already there.

A few years ago I combined a number of forum groups, (set-up before I came to Autogeek in 2009), to clean up the groups and make finding the right group or place to post a thread easier. There's still room for improvement.


I am going to take the list of articles I created in the first reply to this thread and create my own reference article because then I can share it here,


New guy questions: Klasse? Ceramic?
