Hello,

I have washed my own cars for many years and recently have purchased a PC 7424 and want to step my detailing game up. What is the softest safest detailing brush to clean the cracks, emblems, crevices, jams? Do you use some straight undiluted shampoo to aid in protecting the finish? Sorry if this is considered an amateur question. Thanks in advance.

A boar's hair detail brush with some APC is good for cleaning emblems.

Thats exactly what I do. While I wash the car and let the suds sit ill grab a brush soaked in the same wash solution and go around all the emblems and body lines. Anything left over ill get with some APC and a brush.

Thanks for the reply's. I hear a lot of good things and see a lot of pro's using the swissvax brush for detailing such area's. Is that brush worth considering?. Curious to hear what other members use in terms of brush and product/technique.

Many of the detailing brushes are nothing more than quality pastry brushes with the price doubled or tripled. I have a few of these each dedicated to a specific task--never had any marring etc

Betty Crocker® Pastry Brush - Bed Bath & Beyond

The One-Star review on that link is funny....LOL

"Warning! Heavy, stubborn chemical odor present on brush identical to this BC brush. The brush I bought at BB&B was identical but lacked the "Betty Crocker" logo."
