Hi everyone,

Ive been around for a while, mostly admiring your work and such but have never actually posted.

I ordered PO85u for my final finishing polish, just because Im using it on my black saab which has a soft non ceramic clear. This is purely for jeweling, is there a noticeable difference between the 85u and 85rd? I will be using a blue ccs pad and a PC.

Thanks in advance!

85U has quite a bit of cut according to the Menzerna chart, 3. And only a 4 for gloss.

While 85rd has a cut of 1.5 and a gloss of 5.

I would have gone with 85rd for finishing. As 85u will do more cutting...

Ok, well my update is that I exchanged it for po87mc instead. Thankfully, AG was able to catch it before it was shipped :)

I feel that po87mc will be the best because the paint is just slightly marred from about a year of normal washing, QD'ing and normal wear. It has slightly less cut that po85rd, so I can spend a bit more time jeweling without worrying about taking any significant clear off.

What do you guys think? Should 87mc work?

I still would use the 85rd for your final step or for jeweling hard to say how bad your swirls are.You may need a more aggresive product then the 86U,SIP ?? White Pad

87mc will work fine for jeweling. However I dont think it will be enough to remove the imperfections, even on soft paint.

It is very minimal marring, I would say that it looks like very fine spiderwebbing. But I will most likely go over it with XMT 1 with a white pad since that did the job on a small test area that I tried a few weekends ago which removed all the imperfections.

My plan is to use a pass or two of 87mc to jewel as well as I can. This is what it looks like plus a little bit of spiderwebbing that cant be seen without a halogen.

Btw, thanks for the responses!
