so the threads about mold in optimum compounds got me looking at my stash. Everything was ok but I don't like the container my 32 oz of poliseal is in. Was able to pour most of it into a megs self cleaning bottle but there is a bit left (not enough to warrant it getting it's own meg's bottle) which means even more air will now sit in the old 32 oz container once I reseal it :( .

so then I started eyeing my 845 bottle and figured I could put that into another meg's bottle and put the remainder of the poliseal into the old 845 bottle. So here's the question:

Rather than trying to clean out the 845 bottle completely, do you think it would be better or worse to let the poliseal mix with whatever is left in the 845 bottle?

Would it improve on the durability of the protection or would the 845 mess up the polishes ability to correct? Also, pretty sure 845 has solvents, while most of the optimum stuff is water based. Not sure they will play nicely. Has anyone mixed these 2 together before?

I didn't realize mold was an issue- thats worrisome!

I'll need to pick up those self cleaning bottles and get my new PoliSeal moved over as soon as it comes in.

I wouldn't mix them. The full 16oz Meg bottle full of Poliseal should be safe.

Plan to use the left over you have in the 32oz bottle or transfer to a "clean" 8oz or 12oz bottle.

I have my Poliseal in a Meg 16oz bottle + a Autogeek 12oz bottle after having a gallon go bad on my last year.

do a 50/50,half the bonnet/hood poliseal, other half side polisealed-boosted 845 and tell us how each side holds up, you will find the answer

It's not an issue. It was an old formula bought on clearance and was contaminated after opening.

Ok, not so worried anymore Im the MAN

I'll still try to keep it, along with ALL my products, as sealed and out of the elements as possible.
