I just recently bought a TL, and the exhaust tips were filthy. So, I just had to polish them clean  . This was my first time polishing any kind of metal on a car, so I think I did pretty good! I polished the insides of the tips as well as the outside because, as you can see, the insides were just awful. Come to find out, the inside of the tips comes painted with a matte black heat resistant coating. Well, I didn't know this at the time, and I polished it all off (oops!). But I like the new look a whole lot better...

Now, on to the write-up. I polished the tips using a lot of elbow grease, some 0000 steel wool, and Blue Magic polishing cream. Then I sealed them up with Klasse AIO. Enjoy the pics!

Thanks for looking! :dblthumb2:

Dang, that looks nice! Can you take a picture of the entire back end? I'd like to see how it looks, overall. I bet it looks sharp!

holy cow. My wife has an 04 mdx and she's got some nasty pipes as well, would love to make them halfway as good as your TL.

That looks awesome! I agree with you, I like the look without the coating. I would have polished those out too, since they flare out. If it was a straight pipe, I would have left it alone. That's all I was trying to get at before....but maybe you should try sealing with a wheel sealant since it's meant for higher temps so it lasts longer.

huge improvement!

Thanks SeaJay! I thought so too.

Thanks Mark! I will try to get that pic for you soon, but I need to wash the car 1st. She's lookin' mighty dirty! :)

Wow, thanks Jonn. Just takes a lot of elbow grease and patience, and you can do it too!

Thanks Fairlady. Yes, I totally saw what you were saying earlier about why would people polish the inside of the pipes, and now the visual shows why I did it. The insides stuck out like a sore thumb! And since they were so visible, then I just couldn't live with it the way it was. I guess I'm bitten by the "detailer bug" after all...And I have Poorboys wheel sealant. Next time I'll give that a try. Thanks for the tip! :props:
