I know there are a great many different uses for Ultimate Compound. Is it safe to use UC to polish "Real" chrome wheels and bumpers. I tried it on an inconspicuous small area, and it made it pretty shiny. I didn't see any added scratches. I just wanted to make sure before going any further with it.

Thank you!

I've used Megs 105 and M100 with great results and I think they are about the same in aggressiveness. I do by hand with a mf.

If the pads turn black then you are not polishing clearcoat.

If no black same as clearcoat paint.

Power Ball on drill (low speed) and UC willl work well.

Look closely as any abrasive product will instill scratches on chrome.Chrome shops will tell you to use detail spray to clean. If the chrome already has scratches or is old and degraded then it does`nt matter that much.
