Need some Help with my windshield. There is a small area (about 3"x2") with lots of little scratchs. This is much like the advertisment picture for the Diamondite Glass Repair System Kit. Well I bought the kit and tried it. The scratches are a little less noticable, but now there are lots of little scratches all over.

I used the leveling disk that came with the kit, and then went over it again with a 4" orange pad and the restorer cream. Any ideas out there? I am not even sure if I was using the leveling disks properly. Both sides of the disks are white and fuzzy. How can I tell if I used the wrong side? (Why wouldn't they use a different color for the hook and loop side?)

I had the same problem with the white discs. It doesnt matter, but I think you arent working it in long enough. Once the polish starts to dry, spritz some water on it and keep going for a little bit longer. There could be other things, like something in the pads, or too much pressure, or too high a speed.

Sounds like you're not breaking down the polish enough. The abrasives in the glass polish are very hard and need lots of time/pressure/heat to break down. Work in small sections, apply lots of pressure and be VERY patient.

Thanks for the replies. I appreciate any help offered. I am applying about 5 pounds of pressure and worked the polish until it dried and faded. I am using a PC with the dial set at 1. Which is the correct side of the pad to apply the product. One side is a little fuzzier then the other.

Thats why. You are using WAY too low a speed. I polished my glass with the PC at 5, and was fine. I bet thats why youre getting haze, since that is too low a speed.

Oh Cr*p, I guess I miss read the instructions. It said 1000rpm and I thought it was OPM. i will try again with the PC set to 5. Just out of curiosity, is the glass polishing pad more or less aggessive then the leveling disks?
