Is it safe? I'd be using a PC with UC + 205.

Is Dr. Color Chip my best bet in correcting these paint defects? How well does it work on metallics? I'm new to detailing so I don't feel comfortable wetsanding just yet.

It's fine to polish over them -- they won't get bigger or smaller. You might get residue in the bigger ones that you should power wash out (or qtip with IPA) before putting on your lsp though.

Don't expect miracles from Dr. Colourchip. It works best on darker colours and non-metallics, and even then, I was not too impressed. My bumper probably looks like yours but everything is black so you can't really tell from 5 feet away. The only way to get it to look new is to take the bumper off and respray it.

Try dealer touchup on a few spots using a pointy toothpick (not the applicator) and slowly build up the paint. Give it a week, then polish over it and see how you like it.

Might be slow going but detailing is a labour of love after all isn't it?
