Polishing Pearl Blue Paint

I've always really liked pearl blue paint jobs. I think Cadillac has done a good job in recent years re-introducing peal paint schemes.

I didn't know one of our project cars for tonight had a pearl blue paint job till Mike, the owner arrived at Autogeek and I walked out to see the car in the sun.

But yes, this bad boy has a swirled out, pearl blue paint job.

With the sun shining down on the hood you can see both the pearlescent blue shining around the sun reflection in the white metallic flake paint job, exactly how it supposed to work.

You can also see the swirls...

Mike said the paint is rough... so I felt it and he's right, this the paint on this car feels like $40 grit sandpaper.

Anyone else like Pearl Blue Paint jobs?

Yes, whether pearl or metallic, the darker blues (but not so dark it looks black in most light) are probably my favorite. Audi seems to have more blue pearls that just about any manufacturer, but most are custom colors that cost about $3000 extra. Sepang Blue Pearl is a good one: In Market: Audi Exclusive Sepang Blue S5 in Stock at Sunset Audi - Fourtitude.com

Funny thing is, as much as I like the darker blues, it's one of the only "common" exterior colors I've never had on a vehicle.
