polishing question... please read and give opinions.

Getting my car ready for a auto club meet Saturday. I washed it last Saturday when it was 55 degrees. All I had time for before rain and cold front that changed to snow and sleet with a high of 20 Sunday. Been in garage all week and am going to polish Friday. My question is since the car is clean but been sitting in the garage do I need to hit with a quick detailer or can I just start polishing?

I agree! You should definitely make sure there's no dust or debris before you get to working the paint. Better safe than sorry. I wonder if an IPA wipe down with a few very plush MF towels would suffice.
 
WW, DS,RW, QD, anything to remove any light dust you may have on your paint before to begin polishing.
 
I even use a waterless wash or compressed air during the polishing process. I'm so slow, dust will settle on the car while I'm polishing! :)
 
Ok. I will use a quick detailer since I've never got into the waterless wash thing.

Your QD is probably ~92-98% water.
That's pretty daggone close to being a:
"waterless-wash process"...if there ever was one.

A little more pricey, though, than say:
UWW+/ONR @ WW dilution-ratio.
But still very effective.

Like everyone else said waterless wash, quick detail spray with a plush microfiber just to remove any light dust before polishing
