Polising Out Matte/Satin Paint??

So didn't know where to stick this subject...hope here is good!

So with all the cars coming out with the matte/satin paints (BMW, Ducati, MB, etc) the popularity seems to be growing. I've been doing the homework on how to care for the paint, but got another question I searched for and couldn't find an answer...

What do these paints/finishes end up like if you just go to work on it and polish the sucker out?? Does it end up like a normal clear coated cared for surface or would it end up different still?

I'm imagining a finish ending up with shiny spots from bug removal and whatever else "polishes" out spots all over the surface and just wanting to be done with it.

This should help answer a lot of your questions. In short, you CANNOT polish matte or frozen paint

Yes, I've watched that video while doing my homework on the subject and I think you're missing the point of my question. I completely and fully understand you're telling me I CANNOT polish it becuase it will make it shiny...got that.

However, my question is IF you DO polish it, what kind of shiny do you end up with? What if I WANT to polish it and make it shiny? Do I end up with a completely normal, polished, shiny, clearcoated paint?? Or is it different from a 'normal' paint/clear coat job?

I've never had the opportunity to polish a matte clear or one of the new BMW frozen clear but from what I understand, and if memory serves me they did talk about it in the video, I believe the catalysts they use (and process) would make the whole layer clear somewhat "hazy". I am not sure the world hazy is right, maybe I should use the word "frosty", but you do get my drift. As in the video, if you do end up polishing the paint you will create a gloss to the paint but I am not sure that you will have the "mile deep" translucence of a regular catalyzed clear.
 
It would be very hazy and blotchy. The matte clears are not designed to be shiny so when you polish them they will shine up a bit but will have like a milky haze to them . Also it would take you forever to make the paint look even
 
Maybe PinPointPrecision can chime in as I have seen his website where he restores Matte/Satin paint and vinyl.

My friend is a tard and is the type of person that swears by turtle wax and wool pads. He had a flat black Mitsubishi evo mr that one day he decided to take his buffer to. End result was a new paint job because it looked so terrible. It had a mild gloss to it that wasnt consistent. I laughed he cried it was a good time.
