I have seen so many iron removers on the market and alot of them do better than others. So far I have used 3d bdx, Iron x spray, iron x gel, Dub Wheel Cleaner,Griots Heavy duty. Out of all the ones on the market and including other factors, what in your mind is the top in iron removers?

Factors such as:
Price
Availability
Smell-They usually are bad
use-some only work on paint
Strength
and more if you can think of any

New ones have been added to the market from chemical guys, nanoskin and mckees line too

I have tried many iron removers as well; and always go back to Iron X. Smell and price are a non factor for me when the product works very well and I don't need to use a ton.

For me the DUB is #1.
Reasons:
1. It's cheap.
2. It seems to work.
3. It doesn't smell bad. [I can't imagine how bad the others must smell, but my best guess is that people are just being babies and it's really not the worst smelling thing in the world like they make it seem]
4. I personally don't place that great of importance to this step as I do the others in the correction process, so as long as I see the DUB making even a slight difference makes me feel good enough.
I'm sticking with the DUB for now.. I have no real interest in the others.

I have used the auto finesse iron remover and it smells like raw eggs... it's pretty bad, however, it gets the job done.

McKee's 37 iron remover and iron-x are my 2 favorites. Been using the McKee's mainly.

I did use a gallon of the nanoskin iron remover with bland results. Not the greatest but it is much cheaper.

My vote goes to McKee's 37 Xtreme Iron Remover. Here's why:

1. It works as well or better than the rest of them.
2. It has the least offense smell of any iron remover that we sell.
3. It's the most user friendly. No phosphates and no acid means it's dumby proof.

Im using now nanoskin iron free, but not 100% convinced yet on how well it works.

I've only used Carpro's iron-x. Smells like the world's worst hair salon. But I love watching the paint bleed. I was impressed with how little contamination my white paint had six months after the first use of iron-x. The second application only brought out a little contamination. Weekly washes pay off:)

Iron-X

I am still on my first gallon jug (5 L?). Stinks worse than a week old litter box but it sure does remove all the rail dust on new cars. And that is the only thing I use it on. Other than really cruddy wheels.

Too expensive for me as a business.I get my fallout remover for 10.00 a gallon.sponge it on instead of spray.cant take the smell of that stuff inventoried in my van.

Dub would be my vote if 3 things were to happen.
1. Increase in the size of the product container--and the amount you get with it
2. Strength of the actual product-works well but is not that strong at least imo
3. cling or dwell time. It is a bit watery and can benefit from some tinkering with the formula

1. I buy it for $6.99 per 22oz. bottle. That's pretty cheap IMO.
Last time I only used maybe 5 oz. at the most for an entire small Kia SUV.
2. It works good enough for me.. But keep in mind this step in the process is of least importance to me. So I'm just fine with what it does.. Besides, find me a customer that even knows about this part of the decon process and I'll detail their vehicle completely free of charge! Lol.
3. IME it clings good enough to make it through the 5min. mark. I wouldn't leave it on the paint any longer than that so it passes that test.

In Oz, so forgive the non AG mention but so far the most economic locally available product that works is autosmart red7 I got a 5l...
Bowdens own wheely clean is also rated but more expensive..
Iron X even bulk here is twice the price and 3 times the price in 500ml....

I have used IronX, 3D and McKee's and they'll have all worked well for me. The McKee's works great and doesn't smell anywhere as strong as the others do. I have used it on my wheels when they were pretty bad and they turned burgundy with 2 coats sprayed on there, looked like a crime scene!
