Poorboy's SSR2.5 by hand?

I have some imperfections and scratches on the front bumper and I tried getting them out with a clay bar and poorboy's professional polish. I guess the next step up would be something with a little more cut like ssr2.5. Can I use this effectively by hand? I live in an apartment so no power outlet for a machine. I've been doing all polishing with a microfiber applicator.
