Hi Guys! Have not posted in while now, Got a chance to detail a Porsche Cayenne a couple of weeks ago and I just thought of sharing some pictures and my process. The Cayenne was in pretty bad shape and was full of swirls and needed aggressive claying badly, the finish was just bad and the sad part of this is I forgot to take some before shots. :bash:

Started off with a Wash with DP Xtreme foam in an AG foam canon and citrus wash with the two bucket method and went on to clay the car with a Hi Tech Magna Sponge, I know some or most of you guys out there find this clay to be a little too aggressive, but used in the right way this clay really works well and saves time, and the finish of the car IMO really needed this clay.

After the wash I did some test spots (with no pics again ) and decided to tackle the job with the Rotary/DA combo with an old school DAT compound/polish combo which has been overlooked since the emergence of the SMAT Megs 105/205 combo. Let me make this short, you might be getting bored by now. Started with Megs Compound Power Cleaner using the Makita rotary and the old school 8" Burgundy pad (just miss my old stuff). After compounding the whole vehicle the finish was in much better shape than when I first started but obviously had to be polished so I took out the good old Megs Speed glaze and started going to work with my Makita Bo6040 Forced DA with a 6.5" white polishing CCS pad (yes the Makita DA can handle those 6.5" pads). Finished off everything with a coat of Collinite 476 topped off with Souveran Paste.

Here are some of the Pictures!

Very nice and clean. :applause:

Now, I have a question about the tint inside the front windshield. Did they have someone do it and/or what did they do to protect the windshield? Also, is it state legal? My poor Mazda has 4 cracks in its windshield since the expressways/roads down here are never cleaned. I just do not wish to replace it until I'm required to replace it. I know that when it's changed, it wil get cracked again. ugh Feed back please

There's More!

Thanks Stephen! To answer your first question. yes they had someone do it and I'm not sure about what they did for protection (if you mean the inside part) and I'm not from the U.S I live in the Philippines so I guess that answers your 2nd question.

Take Care!

Im not sure about Texas, but I know the only way you're allowed to have windshield tint in FL is if you have a prescription citing a legitimate medical condition which would warrant the tint, and you have to have that prescription in the car at all times because you will still get pulled over, but that will keep you from getting a ticket.

Great job.

Tinted windshields are illegal unless you have a medical condition as far as I know.

Who says you could not use a "clear" tint? Same kinda stuff as clear bras are. I have not had a chance to ask any law enforcement people, yet.

Really nice color! Makes the vehicle look like a piece of art! Monochromatic, tinted solid, perfect!

Nice ride, great job!

Great job Syd! Nice wet and crisp reflection shots. :)

Thanks dude! I'm still looking forward to meeting you one of these days and maybe doing a detail project together.
