Last week my friend got in his new Porsche GT3 RS. The car has been selling for between $170,000 - $180,000 depending on options. He took me for a ride but didn't offer to let me drive it. :( When I talked to him a few days ago he told me he was going to start getting the car ready for his up coming race in New Zealand today. The cars brand new and he's going to start taring out the whole interior, putting in a roll bar, doing some engine mods and putting in a different transmission. I thought it would be interesting to get some pictures of someone taring up a new $180,000 car. I went there with my camera today but now his not going to start on the car until tomorrow. I'll try to get some pictures of the car being modified. He's going to fly the car to New Zealand in 2 weeks. Here is a few pictures of the car before any modifications.

My friend deals in high end cars and alway has a nice inventory. It's always fun to go there just to take the cars for a ride. A while back I posted some pictures of some of his inventory at the time. Since I was there with my camera I thougt I might as well take a few pictures for AG.

Here's one for pirex - Audi S8 with a V10 - Very nice interior:

Doesn't the club sport package already come with a roll cage? Oh and I love the GT3 RS, orange makes me drool.

I don't know if Porsche offers a package with a roll cage on the RS but the car does not have one. I did see one RS on ebay that had a roll cage. Porsche will build you an actual race car if you want. In the type of ralley racing my friend does you must start with a stock car. It seems like a shame to start taring up such a nice car.

Wow! Hmm stripping out the GT3 ey, I wonder what the end result will look like after all the modding..

That is a very nice vehicle, I'm with you shame it's being torn apart for mods...I think it's fine the way it is...but if your going to be racing with it you have to make all the mods.

Very nice pictures and the vehicles are very nice.

Thanks for sharing Gary.

If he has the money to strip and race a car like that then let him.At least it won't sit in the garage and collect dust.

That is a pure breed race car. I say rip it up, and thrash it!!!

Only in Europe it comes with it stock. In the US its an option, also the ceramic brake system is 7K X_X dont ask me how I know ;)

Hey Gary, does you friend let all the cars sit outside all the time?

Looks like I was right with the GT3 guess. :D

Klumzy - I'll get some pictures after the modification before he takes it to New Zealand. He is not doing anything to the exterior so it will not look different. The interior will look a lot different and all the other mods are going to be to the power train. There goes the 4 year 50,000 mile Porsche warrenty. He does have a certified Porsche mechanic that works for him.

P1et - Like any dealer his showroom is not big enough for all of his cars. He's always rotates cars in and out. Certain really expensive cars he always leaves in his showroom. He had a new Carrera GT that took him about a year to sell and he always left it in the showroom. A couple of months ago he had a Ferrari Enzo that stayed in the showroom. He sold the car in less then a month for $1,300,000.

2Turbos - Riding in a car with my friend his any experience in itself. He's a very good driver and will have you holding on to your seat. He's really into racing. Here is some of the racing he has won.

He's a great guy Meghan. Everyone can always use more good friends. It's great to have a friend like him just to be able experience driving to many different nice cars.
