I found a 10x15 easy up canopy on eBay for 199.00. Good price. Comes with sidewalls for more shade. Different colors. Claims a single person can do it.

Who had a canopy? What size do you have? Any issues? Pros and cons?

Seriously?? No one used any sort of portable shade??
Feed back please

I have an EZ UP its not quiet big enough to fit a full size truck under. To be honest, I don't really use it that much. They take up space in my truck and its kinda hard to put up/tear down by myself. Plus, its kinda heavy to lug in and out of the truck. Most places I can work in the shade or not have the sun on my on one side. Granted there are times when I have to work in the sun, but oh well.

I have no idea how you could put one of these up/down by yourself. I have a 10x10 EZ-Up, if you guys have any tips for one-man operation I'm all ears.

I use a 10X10 Ez up and put up by myself. Takes a little bit but you can do it. Like Ed said. One corner at a time. I've been meaning to ask Cosmin how he puts up his 10x20.

I don't know how you pull it apart far enough by yourself to even be able to work on the corner. I apparently am EZ-Up challenged.

Same here...I think I got mine at BJ's...I think. I bought it awhile ago.

Kris, I don't have one but I will.

I think they're important to have to ensure shade so that it keeps both the car and you cool to the touch.....:props:

That's my thinking. Detailing in the sun is horrible if not impossible.

Don't feel all alone. I can't do it either. I saw a video of a more expensive model that a guy puts up rather easily.

Grab the inner angles closest to the center and while pulling apart, drag the tent back slightly. This will open the tent some so you can now get underneath the tent. Find the center post and slowly push up until the tent opens. Now you can work one leg at a time. Always try setting up so you can drive the car under the tent.

I'm going to try that one. I will be amazed if I can pull it off. Thanks for the tip.

what should you expect for one ofthese and what size do you need? I'll be doing a lot of work outside and would much rather have the car shaded (obviouslylol)

I like having the canopy when I need it. However, I'm not going to lie it can be a real PITA some times. Not only putting it up and taking it down, but it takes up a decent amount of room in my HHR. When summer is in full swing I will use it just about every day just cause it gets too hot being in the direct sun all day. (sure you florida guys know that!).

But right now, I really only use it when I have to. Which is normally when it comes down to LSP, I'll put up the canopy real quick and pull the car under. Of course the car sticks out some so I have to do part of the car then move it.

Some times I just wish I had a garage.

I have a 10'x10'... it's too short due to the sun's angle at times. I would much rather have a 10'x15'. Much of the problem is the windy days. You certainly don't want this thing blowing into the side of any vehicle. A good gust of wind can easily turn your tent into a hand-glider within seconds.

From the prices I see out there, either Amazon or eBay, and always look for free shipping as these things can weigh a lot.

I have used an EZ -up tent for many years for pit space. The Brand you purchase will make a difference in ease of use durability and stability. Ther are many second rate shelters out ther and none of them last like a true EZ-UP branded shelter.I have witnessed many friends have their discount shelters fall apart year after year. I use the EZ-Up 10 x 10 express II model. It is their least expensive canopy that has the needed center cross bracing. Check out E-Z UP Direct | E-Z UP Instant Shelters#&#Canopies These are the only canopies I have found that you can readily get customization, accessories and replacement parts for.

Mine is a true 10x10... legs are vertical this would be the minimum size I would recommend. In use, where the shadow falls is more important than actual dimensions. Properly secure canopy with weights or spikes if you work on a soft surface. A stiff wind can and will make these things fly. We would hang shop lights under the canopy for night time use. Kinda handy....:xyxthumbs:

This is one is very nice...E-ZUP Speed Shelter instant portable canopy :dblthumb2:
