This looks like it could be the answer to my prayers since I live in an apartment with no coin-operated car washes near by. Has anyone used it for washing a car? There is no info on the amount of pressure. If this is too weak, does anyone know of a quality high pressure hand pump sprayer?

Thank you!

High pressure is relative

In this instance it is probably referring to the sprayers ability to atomize product and shoot a stream some distance

This unit, or any other pump-up sprayer, will NOT blast dirt off of your car, but will be great for pre-soaking during rinseless washes

I hate to be discouraging but I don't think you're going to be able to do much, other than get water on the car, with a hand held sprayer. Some do have more pressure than the one you're looking at but not nearly the same as an electric or gas.

I would suggest going with one of the rinseless/waterless washes. I've never used one but do have one on order. Lots of AGs are extremely satisfied with them. Use the search function for the forum and you can find alot of threads. There's also alot of youtube videos on rinseless/waterless washes.

I'd go with the rinseless/waterless wash and go to the coin operated wash to high pressure the big stuff only in those cases where my car was too bad for the wash.

Here's a recent thread on Eco waterless.

I bought a 2 gallon hand pump from Menards and it was under $20.00. I use it to clean the tires, wheels and wheelwells. As far as washing a car, no way!

I've lived in an apartment for the past 2.5 years and the answer to your prayers is doing a rinseless wash! Get 2 five gallon buckets, 2 grit guards, a good wash media and the rinseless wash, may I suggest Duragloss rinseless. You'll also want a large drying towel too. Once you get all this, you'll be sooo much happier, trust me/us!

I should also mention the waterless wash option too, many choices here, ECO TOUCH is the 1st and only brand I've used and its great! You need atleast 6 plush mf towels to do this, its also an option for you!

I use a sprayer like this to soak my car w/ ONR solution prior to doing a rinseless wash. Rinseless wash is a perfect way to go for an apartment dweller. The sprayer I have will wash some dirt off, but is not close to approaching what a pressure washer will do.

I use this when doing waterless, and rinseless. It's 10x quicker to pre-soak the panel and it does not go all over the place. Best investment i ever made.

I had 2 of these when I lived in my townhouse. One was filtered water to pre-soak and rinse wheels off after cleaning. The second one was used as pre-soak with ONR for rinseless washes.

OP, you should look into rinseless washing, specifically the Garry Dean Method.

+1 I have a similar one in 3 gallon for pre-rinse as well. Been using it for 2 years for rinseless washes but I have to say there is little to no pressure.

If the OP is thinking that this will rinse the soap off, sorry but this will not cut it. Not even close.

If the OP will use this as a presoak for rinseless or waterless... this is a good tool.

Thank you all for your responses. I was hoping for a hand-pump or battery washer with enough power to wash the car without having to do a rinseless or waterless wash.

They don't seem to exist because the strongest hand-pump spayer I found, Solo 457, puts out about 40 PSI. The strongest battery one for non-commercial use, Nomad 18 Volt, has 90 PSI but seems to have gone out of production.

I don't think you'll find any pressure washer than will clean a moderately dirty car without damaging the paint and or stripping the wax
.
I have a 2700 psi gas pressure washer but I don't use it on my car. It will peel paint. I know.

Think of the touchless car washes. I've been told most are 2000-2200 psi. I've taken my car through them before and got alot of dirt when I dried it off. There might be some safe combination of water pressure and soap out there that will clean a car without any hand work but I don't know about it.
