Porter Cable 7428 Rotary?!

That was my first Rotary but I have since given it to my brother .I you look at the Flex 603VB it is almost the same unit .That is due to it being made by Flex when they where one company.It was a very good unit and I liked it a lot.

I think the 7428 weighs about 9 lbs. So its pretty heavy. Remember the Makita 9227c weighs about ~6 lbs and sometimes users are annoyed by its weight.

I agress with NotZeroSix. It is a heavy machine but smooth operation like the Makita. The weight will become an issue when you try to buff the side panels or in odd position.
This machine reminds me of the Milwaukee polisher.

I've tested one of these buffer but never buffed out an entire car let alone hundreds of cars with one but the crucial information is that it is a direct drive, circular or rotary buffer and it's going to operate pretty much like all the other rotary buffers in the same category.

If you're new to rotary buffers then I would recommend for full size RB's to look at the Makita or for a lightweight version look at the Flex 3403

Both of these are top quality tools that will outlive you. If you're going to use the RB to buff out cars as a job I would look at a full size model. If it's for your own car and using it will be a once in a while thing then I would go for the Flex 3403
