Hooray for USPS, batting 100%

Anyway, I am done with Shinemate products, and not because I don't like them, but because they have become all but impossible to get up here

Park Car Care is the single source of Shinemate products in the US that I am able to find and they flat don't ship to Alaska, and Carzilla in Canada wanted almost $60 to ship $100 worth of pads

Amazon has a tiny selection of Shinemate pads and it looks to me like they are getting out of the Shinemate pad business as well

I am not going to keep chasing my tail and if Shinemate doesn't want to do business with the USA, then so be it

So I am back to Lake Country and picked up these SDO finishing and polishing pads from Detailed Image, who are happy to ship to Alaska and have reasonable shipping rates
Was the package kicked all the way to your house.

Yessir

To their credit, Detailed Image always puts a lot of heavy packing paper in their packages

I am betting some USPS minion put this 1 pound box in the bottom corner of a van or container and put everything else on top of it

House of Rags. I wanted to try Feynlab Ceramic Detailer. Had a pre-labor day sale. Ordered on 9/1. Not received yet. Call HOR CS today. It's on the pallet to "go out" and cannot cancel order. Representative explained they got "alot of orders" from the sale. My 1st and last purchase from this company.

It never ceases to amaze me how businesses have a huge online sale, and then can't deliver, whether it is an issue of just getting the product out the door, or even continuing to take orders after the stock of product is exhausted, and then they hide behind the "well, we had a sale" excuse

What did they expect?

I think this has come up before, but if you routinely have sales where you give 15% off and that volume increase overloads your fulfillment capability, would it make sense to just lower all your prices by 15% and smooth out your sales volume? Well, no, because people want to buy stuff that is ON SALE. To paraphrase Gallagher "it's in your damn DNA".

I remember Bob Lutz talking about this, how when Chrysler went bankrupt (the first time) and no one wanted to buy Chryslers, they started with those model year-end rebates to clear out the lots for the new models...and then the other mfrs. had to follow suit, and it got to the point where buyers knew if they waited until the end of the year, they could get a better deal.

Lutz stated somewhere that when he was at GM in the 2000's he begged the bean counters to let him have another 1000 or 1500 dollars a car so that he could make vehicles people wanted to buy and would therefore do it instead of waiting for rebates where GM was getting hosed (and I'm speaking as someone who got $6000 off one of his GM cars). He made that case that adding a thousand or 2 dollars to the value of the car would actually SAVE the company money, but the bean counters weren't buying it.

Anyway.

THOR is just learning about the other side of the detailing product selling business - inventory management and shipping. They admit they are out of stock and way behind. The question is will the orders continue. That is, there is initial demand and if they continue to stock at the current sales level it could drop off then left with a lot of unsold stock.

How running is this product? I'm wondering if this could be a treatment for rotors after washing to prevent that flash rusting, for which I'm using Bilt Hamber Atom Mac or Hydes.
I haven't tried it yet, although I sprayed a tiny bit on old cloth to assess the scent, but whatever it is, it's not strong. I read on their website it says apply it on the lawn to avoid messy clean ups on the driveway, and that it's biodegradable.

It's fairly runny, drips off the underside quite a bit while applying, no real detectable scent. Definitely wear gloves and eye protection while using, the wind was swirling while I was spraying up underneath and in the wheel wells, I had to clean the safety glasses a few times, and I discovered over spray got everywhere, even on the windshield, which I cleaned with Angelwax Vision. After doing the rinse step it says to go for a drive to dry it off, and I don't know if it was in my head, but it seemed quieter and smoother, like the suspension was lubricated by this stuff. I'll have to give it a complete wash tomorrow, to make sure any over spray is gone, I did a test spot with ONR and that worked fine. We should get some dew overnight so I'll try and do it first thing while it's still wet.

I got it for the leather 3 seater recliner in the media room, my Duragloss stuff is just about done.

Bowden's intend for Leather Love to be used in a spray and wipe manner, but I've found you can significantly ramp up its cleaning potential if agitated with a brush. It's also leaves a lovely matte finish, no gloss or greasiness.
